I went to get some plants for the tank today then meet my mum at the other pet shop to get food. I was looking in the tanks as I always do, its an independent shop, and I have got my Tiny Tim from there and Rainbow the calico fantail. I had said no more fish, but my mum said would you like to buy you one!! I couldnt say no as they were all so cute, and one in particular caught my eye, as they always do. . So I gave in and got him, a little calico oranda to be, muted colour and oh so cute!
So I now have Tiny Tim (), Rainbow and un-named which I quite like Zippy!

And I know, very bad of me not to quarantine, but I have never had any trouble from this shop, all tanks are individually filtered, and all fish look healthy and active.

oh how cute!  The only fish I haven't QT'd were my two shubies that I got directly from the Big Al's store, and luckily they were perfect, no issues.  Of course it's always best to QT, but if you trust your source you can get lucky every now and then.  Hopefully he'll be okay.  He is just adorable!  Congrats!!

BTW, I think "Tiny" is always a perfect name for really big pets.    Your fish are amazing.  I love 'em.

Thanks hun. Yer I think when it is a trusted source it is less of a risk, especially as it is an independent store and not a chain. As you can see Tiny has never had many problems, other than size!
I was looking at some pics of him from just last year and he has grown so much. His face has filled out a lot, and he is plumper!

I love tiny, he looks simular to one of my blue orandas and your new one (zippy) looks like he/she  might kick out some pompoms when it matures.  Nice picking. That is the same way I select my goldies, they have to talk to me.

Thank you. I think Zippy might just end up with big nostrils like Tiny has. Was looking at pics of Tiny and how much he has grown lately, filled out into a big boy. :-)

They are all still doing well together. Zippy has discovered that Tiny has a massive tail that looks like food, so chases him round, grabbing it every now and then. no damage and I know he will grow out of it soon enough.
I think he has grown a little bit since I got him, need to start introducing some more food into his diet, bloodworms should be more available soon, seem to go out of stock in the winter.
