I am not sure exactly where we go from here. Hubby will see what he can do tomorrow to help resolve it. Our website has been hacked, in other words, someone has figured out a way to use our website and wreak havoc on our server (our hosting service). Our hosting service cannot do anything about it because they are an "unmanaged" service provider...UNLESS we pay them hundreds of dollars to access the problem and fix it.
I cannot afford to pay upwards $300 just to redo our website, so I am crossing my fingers that the involved instructions they've sent us aren't too over Benny's head. It's all Greek to me!! Evidently there are firewalls that can be installed within the server, but you have to know programming/coding to do this, which is NOT our expertise. We will do our best.
It's possible that we will experience some down time if he's able to enact this process.....but we will be backing up the entire site before proceeding so that we don't lose anything. Our internet is very slow, so backing up may even take a couple of days, I am not sure. Either way, once we're backed up, we will try and reload the website with the firewalls and get rid of the old server access that the hacker has access to currently.
