What do you guys think?

So, for the life of me, I don't know why the photo contest seems to be out of people's minds these days...but I have an idea and I want as many people's feedback as possible.
 
It's possible that because our members are from all over the world, they think only US members are allowed to enter. Not true!  Everyone can and is encouraged to enter!  But I was thinking, it may be more than just not knowing they can enter, but not knowing what photo to choose or how easy it is to win!  Or that any photo posted, past or present, can be entered as long as it's never been a previous contest winning photo.
 
So what do you all think if I combine entries each month, with the ones that our members send specifically for the contest, and photos that I see posted in the Galleries and Forums and choose myself to be included in the contest?  That way no one misses out on the fun of voting every month, and getting to see some fabulous fish that they may have missed in the forums?

Seems like a good idea. Even better if you pm the person and tell them your plan to use their pic unless they don't want it in the contest, and in that event you would remove it immediately. However I can't imagine why anyone would  want a pic they've already shared withdrawn.

I know it's always one of those get around to it things for me.

Sounds like an idea to me.  If you really want to have to hunt the forums for pictures of the fish ..... sounds like a lot of work on your part, but you seem to like this kind of thing, so I say go for it.

Personally I think people try and try to get good pictures of their fish and they want to share them instantly.... forgetting to submit them to the contest.  I know I have a hard time keeping any of my "Good" pictures a secret.  :-)

Except that doesn't matter anymore. We changed the rules a few contests ago to allow all pics, whether posted or not.  However, I don't mind grabbing cute photos....you're right about that!  That part is fun.
