For anyone that wants to follow along, this is what I've been watching lately to know when we can finally upgrade to the final release of the free forum database we use to run AP:

The developers are promising by month's end (May 2011), so as soon as it's ready, we are installing it on our server.  After that, we can upload the new forum theme.  AquaPuppies is about to get a huge facelift, and the side effects will be a much smoother running website with virtually no security issues. 
 
Simple Machines Forums has been in a "release candidate stage" for several years, so this is a very big step.  When it's time for the upgrade, we will give notice of the forum being down for the brief time it'll take to change over.  So exciting!

 :clap:  They released the stable version!  Yayyyy!!!! OMG!   
 
 
On hubby's next day off we will work on upgrading the forum as promised.  I will give notice when I know what day that is.  The forum will likely be down for maintenance while we switch everything over.  We have to do it ourselves...ran out of dough to pay someone, but it'll be back online with a new secure database and new look!
