« on: January 01, 2011, 11:43:41 AM »

This is our AquaOne 620T
It is our tropical tank now (Guppys, Platys, 2Corydora Sterbai, 3Bristlenoses) with plenty of babies coming along, including 16 BN babies.

Wow that is really pretty!  Is that centerpiece a wood root or something else?

What kind of guppies?  The fancy tailed ones or the standard old guppies?

Are your Bristlenose the regular finned brown ones?  Do they breed easily in captivity?

Sorry for so many questions... Just tropicals have gotten to be quite interesting lately to me.

Thank you SeaWitch and Zookey.
The centrepiece is an old ship wreck, got it at the petstore in the decorations department, I also got a small bogwood with planted Dwarf Anubias, other plants are Valisneria, African Tiger Lotus, Ambulia, Ludvigia.

The Platys are Mickey Mouse Platies, Golden Comet Platys, Tiger Platys, Bumble Bee Platys, one High Fin Platy and the Guppys are the fancy tailed ones Like Rainbow coloured or Pink, Yellow, Blue, etc.. will introduce the fertile gang in the appropriate section,  ;-)

The Bristlenoses surprized us with breeding and I learned when they start with it they breed like bunnies, rofl
Their names are Kate, Jack and John. They need a breeding log (which I bought after seeing the first babies) or other tight hiding places ( like in the ship wreck ) And yes, they are the regular ones.
And yes, I bought the BN breeding log because the platys love to have a tete-a-tete in the ship wreck :O rofl
The two Corys, well I'm not sure of their gender yet but for now they are Cory and Dora
CHEERS,
HANNA

You have a video in your photobucket (came across it when watching the goldfish feeding video)... Your bristlenose is really dark colored.. almost black (or is that just a lighting thing). The reason I mention it is because mine is brown.. kind of a dry mud brown.  Your BN babies are so dark they almost look like little tadpoles in that tank.

And yes I can see the shipwreck now that you said what it was.  I originally thought it was some kind of root (asked in previous post) then after that I was thinking an old anchor... but then you said shipwreck and I finally saw it for what it was.  That is a really cool looking tank though.  Just gorgeous.  How many gallons does that tank hold?  I tried googling the make/model but didn't find anything useful.

Thank you all for the compliments,

It is a 160l tank which should be about 42+ gal.
The BN is a dark mud brown colour with some lighter "freckles" and light edges on the tail fin, so are the babies.

Yup, lol, I hope they all are lucky fish, hubby and me just LOVE them, they give us so much joy back....
Quite a bit to see in photobucket, everyone welcome to browse ;-)

We call ourselves "fishhoarderers" lol, so hard to come home without fish when going shopping for them...
CHEERS,
HANNA

Is this the same tank that's pictured in the other thread with fish?? If so you can ignore my question re. what you stocked it with! This looks really vibrant, so natural & healthy!

I've noticed this happen in a few other topics, perhaps it is just a glitch in the forum or some privacy settings have been changed? It appears to be only with photobucket at the moment :[

Have you deleted it in photobucket?
If you have then it will not display it here either ;-)
So make sure you never delete any photos you have linked in threads on forums.

Ah yes that would be why.
When you re-organised the albums it would have changed the links.  :banghead: lol
