What is the Maintenance Schedule Required?

Daily

1. Check temperature
2. At feeding time, watch for decline in appetite usually indicating illness
3. Check for burned out bulbs and replace
4. Ensure filters are working properly
5. If planted, reposition uprooted or floating plants

Weekly

1. Perform water tests
2. Check fish for behaivor changes
3. Check fish for appearance changes
4. Perform water changes and substrate cleaning
5. Rinse filter sponges/floss

Monthly

1. If planted, trim dead stalks and leaves and add plant fertilizer
2. Scrub algae build up on walls of tank and make light exposure adjustments as necessary
3. Strip down and clean filters
