$5 metromeds?
« on: March 08, 2010, 08:06:28 am »
Hey guys-

I ordered aN 8oz bag of metromeds just because its been 6 months since my last bag. My question is, if anyone wants a bit of it? I literally used like... 2 weeks worth, which is not a lot at all for my fish. And the rest of the bag is pretty much trash now.

If I find out what shipping is for a small pill vial full, would anyone want me to send some ( I assume shipping'd be like 3-5 bucks, if that? I haven't measured how many vials I'd get out of an 8oz bag, but it'd be a few. I could send larger vials if you have bigger or more fish that get sick easier. I just don't want the bag to go to waste like my last one.

I'm very busy this week and will be out of country till the 21st, but I can send it out after that.

Lemme know. :)
Nita

That is really sweet and is a very good idea, too!  I have a whole bag of Medi-Gold that has not been opened and a lot of MMs, too.  I usually order after 6 months (after the bag has been opened).

You know that isn't a 1/2 bad idea.  I mean I have about 1/2 a bag of Medigold and 3/4 Metromeds that had expired on me and I have replaced since.  This would be a great idea to share bags of the medications so we aren't sitting with full containers around just letting them go to waste.  It would at least be enough to get us through until an order arrives and would not be near as costly as buying a full container to have go to waste if the fish never need it in the 6 months.

I don't know what size "pill bottle" you are planning to use but I would be interested in buying a bottle.  Then if the fish get sick I have it on hand and can order more if needed.  I will be happy to wait until you are back from Germany though Nita.... no need to add to your "to do" list before your trip!

Have a great time there!  If you run into Sam say HI for me.

Maybe we should set up a section in the Clinic for ppl who have meds to spare and would like to participate in doing this. :[  The requirements would be that they would have to know the purchase date of the meds and how long from the purchase date they were opened (if at all).  I would much rather send my eatrra meds to ppl who need them than to have them sit here and go to waste!  I know I would be willing to share some of mine, too!!!

Also, for those of us who don't have any empty pill bottles, you can always use ziplock-type bags and those mailer envelopes that you get from Wal-Mart in their "shipping materials" section.  I think they only cost .50-$100 a piece.
