I was not sure if I should put this pic in pond photos or non-planted tank photos.

I did use this tank as an outdoor pond for the summer, but now it is an...indoor pond...I guess.

Here is where my "pond" is situated now.

That's freakin' cool. You're awesome Nickie! Only us crazy goldfish lovers would bring a stock tank indoors to enjoy our fish.

Wish I could fit a handful in my house! I'd totally do it.

That looks just wonderful Nickie!! I am sure your babies just love all the hard work you put into their pond -- regardless if it is inside or out!

I love the look of the water infront of those windows (or are they doors?)...... I would love to get an old clawfoot bath tub to set up as a pond in the house for the fish..... but only time will tell.

Your fish are so lucky to have a mom like you!!

Zookey, Ive been wondering about the clawfoot (gold-blated of course) too. The other day I asked DH how many litres he would estimate our bathtub to be. He look HORRIFIED... as he imagined I would bring the goldies from the pond into it

But I actually only asked to get an idea of the size compared to the volume... hi hi

Thanks to you all. My FIL was the one who thought I was crazy when I brought the stock tank inside. My hubby has just learned to go along with it as arguing with me when it comes to my fish will not work.

@Zooks: Yes those are windows the tank is in front of. I really want to get some sort of light to go over it, but until I get the money, the windows will have to do for now.

How would it work for lights if you got something on the line of free stnding Floor lamps? Does anyone make "free standing" lights like that, that would give off enough light for a healthy tank?

Maybe we could invent it ourselves and become rich!

I have actually thought about a floor lamp with a florescent bulb in it.

I don't think I will be able to hang anything over the tank, so that may be all I can get to use.

They aren't cheap, but ott lights are really good full spectrum lighting and they have floor models

Those lights really aren't that bad a price. No more than a hanging light kit would cost me. I think I will ask for one of those floor lamps for Christmas!

I'm pretty late on this topic...but you could use reptile lamps, they make some that clip right on to the side of the tank.

You can put any type of bulbs in them really as long as you check the wattage.

It could be a cheaper solution to getting light in to your pond for the winter.

Yeah, I use a music-stand lamp, the ones that clip on to the music-stand, with a day-light bulb in it for my quarantine tank.
But surely there are clip on lights in the LFS or not? Here there are. You could just get two.

I´ve often thought about that for our garden. Now we won´t have a garden anymore tho. It might be too heavy for the balcony...

Nope. My fish (the only two that I have that have died-KNOCK ON WOOD!!!) are buried under my Crepe Myrtle tree in my front yard. Another one of my fish died while I was shipping him to Olivia and she buried him. *(

The ones they make specifically for fish aquariums are expensive, but I didn't think about that. Hmmmmm.....that might work.

That looks so peaceful! That sort of room is exactly what I'd like to have whenever I finish my remodel. Makes more sense to have a year-round pond indoors than a couple-of-months-only pond outdoors in my climate!
